Mindful Thinking and Morning Meditation

What are the benefits of morning meditation?
Morning meditation is an incredible way to start the day! Every day I wake up I place my hand on my heart and smile for a minimum of 20 minutes and up to 2 hours, and this practice gets me going to the point where I’m beaming! Feeling super connected and generally really inspired. My partner Ruby Rose loves this so much, as she wakes up to me with a huge smile and shinning!
Meditation is about becoming more conscious, slowing the mind down and training the mind to focus. An analogy of meditation given by a monk to me is that meditation is “like weeding the garden and watering the seeds”, where your mind is the garden and the seeds are positive qualities you wish to develop, such as love, compassion, focus, discipline, emptiness and body awareness. The seeds could also be your intensions, such as affirmations and purification.
One simple technique of meditation is being aware of the breath and consciously following it with your awareness as it flows in through the nose and down into the abdominal area (dandian) expanding with the in breath. Then filling the chest and then consciously following the breath back out either through your nose or mouth.
Being aware of the gap in-between the breaths and the shift from out breath to in breath has lead to people becoming self realised.
Another technique is complete focus on the entrance to the nose and the breath coming in and out.
Just with these practices alone many people have reached states of enlightenment.
During this process a major obstacle can be the mind. Many thoughts can lead to distraction, but we can allow the thoughts to just pass away or let go of them, bringing the mind back to the process. The longer the practices the deeper we go inside. Performing this practice for 20 minutes during the morning and at night is recommended to maintain a deeper level of awareness.
Vipassana Mindfulness Activities
We recommend doing the Vipassana meditation retreat, as it has been a life changing experience for me and for many of my friends. Performing Vipassana meditations can be very challenging for beginners as it requires a great deal of discipline and focus; however it also brings rapid improvements in personal development, body issues and leading to the experience of bliss and greater body awareness.
Another practice I highly recommend is Qi gong, which is a truely incredible way to acachieve wellbeing.
Another practice I really like is a prayer inspired by Dr. Masaru Emotoul and his book The Hidden Messages in Water. Reading this book changed my life!!!!

Its amazing how this makes you feel, another thing I’d highly recommend giving it a go, you can also do this with your partner, family or friends. And of course to yourself!
